Marina Malysheva u Kristina Buzova huma żewġ Ukreni, li flimkien ma’ uliedhom sabu kenn f’Malta wara li telqu minn pajjiżhom kawża tal-gwerra.
Sena minn meta faqqgħet il-gwerra fl-Ukrajna, Marina u Kristina, it-tnejn minn Kharkiv, irrakkuntaw l-esperjenza tagħhom kif waslu Malta.
Ma’ ONE News Marina spjegat kif hi kienet tgħix f’żona fejn il-bombi ma jieqfu qatt u wara li ħadet id-deċiżjoni li titlaq flimkien ma’ uliedha, kien ftit jiem biss wara li dar familtha sfaxxat fix-xejn.
Spjegat kif żewġha għadu Kharkiv hekk kif hu jagħmel parti mill-armata iżda kif xorta waħda jsibu ħin biex jitkellmu permezz ta’ vidjo fejn ikun jista’ anke jara lil uliedhom.
Qalet, “My husband is in Kharkiv. This is the city close to Russian borders”, about 30km, and it’s always very loud because there is always bombing going on. It actually never stops. It’s a pity because people living there need to adapt to it, where they constantly hear the bombings.”
Irrakkontat kif tħossha xxurtjata li mal-wasla tagħha Malta sabet appartament lest jistenniha hekk kif persuna li kellu kuntatt żewġha miegħu, offrilhom fejn jgħixu.
Sostniet kif iż-żewġ uliedhom mill-ewwel adattaw u kif l-edukazzjoni f’Malta hi waħda mill-aqwa hekk kif is-sistema toffri dak kollu li hemm bżonn. Marina qalet kif tieħu gost tara lil binha ta’ kuljum jiġi d-dar u jgħidilha x’tgħallem, fosthom anke kliem bil-Malti.
Qalet, “I find that education in Malta is just amazing. When my children came to Malta they knew no English, and teachers knew that and they were helping them. After only four months of school my son understands everything they say in English at school, and he can say I am Mark in Maltese, and can count in Maltese as well.”
Kristina Buzova spjegat kif flimkien ma’ żewġha u uliedhom, it-triq lejn Malta ma kinitx waħda faċli hekk kif wara li ddeċidew li jħallu pajjiżhom – il-vjaġġ mill-Ukrajna lejn Malta sar bil-karozza tagħhom.
Liema karozza kellha ħsarat kawża tal-bombi li twaddbu qrib id-dar fejn kienu jgħixu.
Spjegat, “We came by car. It was actually our first drive out of Ukraine as my husband had almost zero experience, while the trip was actually very stressful for both of us as the kids were very tired as we were epecially since the trip was 4,000km.”
Spjegat kif mal-wasla tagħhom Malta, f’nofs ta’ lejl, ma kinitx faċli jsibu fejn jgħixu iżda kien grazzi għal koppja Maltija li offrewlhom saqaf fuq rashom temporanju sakemm sabu appartament ieħor.
Qalet, “A very nice couple from St Julians offered us some food and drink and a place to sleep. We were able to sleep in comfort, our kids were very happy about it. We later moved out but I still remember this heartwarming feeling when I finally found some help from common people, not NGOs, but common people who really wanted to help us.”
Intant, Kristina spjegat kif ma tista’ qatt tieqaf tirringrazzja l-qlubija tal-Maltin li laqgħu lilha u lil familtha b’tant ġenerożità – tant li anke l-ġirien tagħha, kif raw il-pjanċi tal-karozza dlonk offrew daqqa t’id.
Qalet, “When we moved to Sliema, when we parked and the neighbours saw our car – we had a small chat with them. Then in the evening we heard a knock on the door and there stood our neighbour with a large basket of food and daily needs, to welcome us. They assured us that everything will be ok and that we will get used to life now, and to enjoy life here.”
