Malta ser tirdoppja l-isforzi sabiex jintlaħqu t-talbiet tal-FATF.
Hekk stqarr il-Prim Ministru Robert Abela waqt il-konferenza annwali ta’ Finance Malta.
Huwa spjega kif il-pajjiż ser ikun qed jimplimenta iżjed riformi sabiex ikompli fuq il-bidliet pożittivi li diġa inkisbu: “What FATF is now asking is for better effectiveness in three particular areas. We take this request seriously and are redoubling our national efforts to successfully implement further reforms which boost resources to regulators, the courts and our investigative and prosecutorial authorities.”
Il-Prim Ministru stqarr kif il-governanza t-tajba ser tkun fuq nett tal-agenda hekk kif saħansitra hemm parti mill-pjan ta’ rkupru ddedikata għaliha.
Dan filwaqt li hemm allokati għaxar miljun ewro oħra għat-tisħiħ tal-istituzzjonijiet u għall-istimular ġdid għad-diġitalizzazzjoni tas-sistema ġudizjarja fost l-oħrajn.
Huwa nnota kif pajjiżna qed jingħata vot ta’ fiduċja wara l-ieħor hekk kif kemm DBRS, FITCH u l-Kummissjoni Ewropea kollha għandhom previżjonijiet pożittivi għall-ekonomija Maltija.
Dan jum biss qabel l-Fond Monetarju Internazzjonali rreveda ‘l fuq it-tbassir ekonomiku għal Malta.
Il-Prim Ministru stqarr: “This shows that we are starting with considerable trust which reflects the very positive assessment made by Moneyval which shows that our framework conforms to good standards on a tecnical level.”
Fl-istess konferenza l-Prim Ministru nnota wkoll l-importanza li pajjiżna jagħraf jisfrutta opportunitajiet għat-tkabbir tal-ekonomija ħadra.
Dan filwaqqt li spjega kif is-servizzi finanzjarji f’pajjiżna jridu jkomplu jintegraw mal-kumplament tas-settur ekonomiku ta’ pajjiżna.
Dan billi iżjed kumpaniji finanzjarji jkompli jżidu l-preżenza tagħhom lokalment.
Dr Abela sostna: “We need to integrate more the financial services sector to the rest of the economy. I am not saying that we should ignore opportunities of serving foreign clients, however financial services firms need to understand that in the current climate having a stronger local presence helps dismiss speculation about their activity.
