Il-President tal-Kummissjoni Ewropea Ursula von der Leyen tenniet li kważi 70% tal-Pjan ta’ Rkupru u Reżiljenza ta’ Malta jegħleb l-isfidi klimatiċi u dan hu eċċellenti.
Hi qalet dan hekk kif, flimkien mal-Prim Ministru Robert Abela, żaret l-Iskola Primarja tan-Nadur li qed tkun riġenerata b’investiment massiċċ minn fondi Ewropej.
Qalet “And indeed you have chosen to dedicate almost 70% of this investment to climate objectives. This is way more of the European average, that’s excellent! And I really want to thank you for that. You are among the first countries to increase the share of renewables in your energy mix.”
Von der Leyen qalet li l-Unjoni Ewropea tinsab fuq in-naħa ta’ Malta, biex pajjiżna jkompli jikber ekonomikament.
Qalet “But I am also here today to tell you that Europe is at your side and all along the road.”
F’indirizz lill-ġurnalisti, il-President tal-Kummissjoni Ewropea qalet li hi ġiet Malta sentejn ilu biex tapprova l-Pjan ta’ Rkupru u Reżiljenza lokali u issa sentejn wara qed tara r-riżultati.
Qalet “I was in Malta two years ago to launch the Recovery and Resilience Plan and it’s good to see, already two years later the results of the work, that we started back then, because this is just the beginning, we will continue working other great projects so that’s lots of good projects in the pipeline.”
Ursula von der Leyen tkellmet dwar l-importanza ta’ dan il-proġett fil-qalba tal-komunità tan-Nadur.
Qalet “The school is indeed brand new, although the whole building has been preserved, the historic building. It has been completed renovated with funds from Next Generation EU and I am very glad to see that it is now highly energy efficient. It has spacious classes, it has a better quality, the air condition is powered by the school own solar panels.”
Il-Prim Ministru Robert Abela qal li dan il-proġett tal-Iskola Primarja tan-Nadur iwassal għal potenzjal tal-istudenti, li jkompli jwassal għat-tkabbir ekonomiku fil-futur.
Dr Abela qal li dan il-proġett fin-Nadur juri t-twemmin tal-mobilità soċjali li jħaddan il-Gvern Malti.
Qal “Utilising over €6.3 million of Next Gen EU investment to deliver new facilities to enhance the education of the next generation of Gozitan students. Only by providing the best education to our pupils can we promote social mobility which in return creates more peaceful and equal societies.”
Hawnhekk il-Prim Ministru tkellem kif il-pjan tal-Gvern hu li Għawdex tkun l-ewwel gżira ħielsa kompletament mill-karbonju, dan fosthom bil-proġetti li t-trasport pubbliku jinqalbu għall-flotta tal-elettriku.
Il-Prim Ministru Malti sostna li dan l-investiment iwassal biex pajjiżna jibqa’ miexi ’l quddiem u jegħleb l-isfidi tal-ġejjieni.
