Fil-jiem li ġejjin, l-Ajruport Internazzjonali ta’ Malta ser ikun qed jara ftuħ ta’ uffiċċju ġdid ta’ kumpanija internazzjonali fis-settur tal-manutenzzjoni tal-ajruplani.
Il-kumpanija l-ġdida, Qualitair, ser tħaddem magħha għexieren ta’ Maltin speċjalizzati f’dan is-settur u ser tagħti opportunita lil diversi studenti mill-Istitut tal-Arti u x-Xjenza, l-MCAST.
Ruth Sawers, Skoċċiża li ilha tgħix Malta għal dawn l-aħħar erba’ snin qalet ma’ ONE News li kien minħabba t-tkabbir ekonomiku u l-investimenti kbar li qed jagħmel il-Gvern f’dan is-settur li ħajret din il-kumpanija sabiex tiġi u topera minn Malta.
“There has been a huge investment both by the government locally in the aviation industry we noticed that we’ve looked at…we’ve looked at the growth the happened in Malta…then we decided to come here”
Is-Sinjura Sawers spjegat li din il-kumpanija ilha għal madwar għaxar snin sħaħ b’konnessjonijiet ma’ Malta, iżda issa ħassew li għandhom jagħmlu pass ‘il quddiem u jġibu l-kumpanija b’mod permanenti f’Malta, biex b’hekk issa ser ikollhom ir-raba’ uffiċċju madwar l-Ewropa, flimkien ma’ dak ta’ Amsterdam, dak fl-Ajruport ta’ Gatwick f’Londra u dak f’Cambridge.
“We have been doing a bit business in Malta for the past 10 years, however now we really want to focus on making a base here and really bring it forward and promoting Malta alongside with the Government”
Sawers kellha wkoll kliem ta’ tifħir għall-Air Malta u tennet li l-kumpanija tixtieq li fil-futur qrib ikollha wkoll konnesjonijiet kemm mal-Air Malta kif ukoll ma’ linji oħra, fosthom Malta Air.
“But going forward in Malta we could be looking at anything in aviation, we got new Air Malta, we got Malta Air, Cabin crew, we could have look at that for the future.”
Sostniet li l-kumpanija għandha futur sabiħa quddiemha, għax kollox jindika li dan is-settur f’Malta ser ikompli jissaħħaħ.
